Rookie Blue returns for its third season this summer on ABC, and now that the premiere date has been announced, some spoilers about the new season have been revealed as well.

Season 3 will begin on May 24 at 10 p.m. on ABC, and there will be a new rookie on the squad. This new rookie is "ex-soldier Nick Collins, who is trying to adapt to policing after serving in Afghanistan." How will he fit in with the rest of the characters? According to the press release, "the rookies of 15 Division are going to learn to be careful what they wish for—and they're going to learn it the hard way." So far, it's known that William Shatner will be appearing in the season 3 premiere, playing "Henry McLeod, a belligerent drunk driver with a haunting secret." Which rookies will be the ones to have that case handed to them to solve? Will that be when the new rookie Nick steps up and shows that he belongs there?

When Rookie Blue season 2 ended, Andy and Sam had both been suspended and were going to try being normal together. Yes, the end of season 2 had seen those two finally get together, but that doesn't mean Andy's love life can't continue to be complicated in season 3. After all, with new characters means new love interests, and anything's possible. What will be going on with the other love triangle that emerged in season 3, the one between Chris, Gail, and Dov, that seemed a bit unnecessary? When season 2 ended, the guys' friendship was back on track. Will that still be the case with season 3? What will be going on in their love lives? Meanwhile, Noelle told Best she was pregnant—and not by IVF. Will they be raising a kid together when the series picks up? Will they still be together? Traci and Jerry somehow ended up a pretty stable couple, but will that still be true this season? Will these couples (and friends) really be able to be normal together?
